On 26th July, Telugu Producers Guild announced that movie shootings will be stopped from August 1 till further notice. However, it looks like this drastic decision is going to impact Tollywood upcoming films in a worst way rather than in a good way.
Getting into the fact, if the shootings get held from August 1st, then location rent, celebrity Call sheets, advance given for locations can impact the budget of the film. Even the same happened to the movies like Pushpa and RRR, which got hold during the pandemic.
Also as ticket rates are expected to decrease, it would be really difficult for upcoming films that are on halt to achieve breakeven, with increased budget but with decreased ticket rate. Utterly, it is going to get worse for those who have locked the release date from next month till January 2023.
So, only if the producers halt ends soon, it would be good for upcoming films or else this bandh in no way will come to fruition for them.
A couple of meetings are scheduled today and tomorrow to take a final call. If nothing is decided, the shoots will eventually come to a halt.
We have to see if the producers 'Oo antara, Oo Oo Antara' for the shoots!
