Bankrolled by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, Mani Ratnam’s dream project Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 is getting ready to hit the screens on September 30th of this year. As announced earlier, makers had released the teaser today evening amid huge expectations.

Though the teaser hasn't revealed much about the story line, it showcased all the stellar cast of the film including Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Prathiban and Sobhita Dhulipala. However, the budget spent on the film was well portrayed in the teaser. The visuals clearly leave vintage Mani Ratnam's mark.

The teaser hasn't revealed any story except the dialogue of Vikram. The film is based on Kalki’s eponymous Tamil novel that was serialised in the 1950s and has remained a sensational success.

Also, the shots in the teaser clearly portray that the movie story is set in the backdrop of 10th century during Chola Empire time when the power fight between two rulers caused violent rifts between the potential successors.

With AR Rahman's soothing music, the film is going to release worldwide in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
