Sensational filmmaker Mani Ratnam is currently working on the prestigious project Ponniyin Selvan. The filmmaker initially planned the film's release in the Summer but he has now postponed it to September. Since it is a pan-India project, Mani wants a long run for his film in theatres.

The makers have also unveiled the first look posters of Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Trisha from the movie. These posters are getting rave responses from the audiences.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the director is not implementing a proper promotional strategy like that of Rajamouli who did for Baahubali franchise and RRR. Mani Ratnam is just launching the posters but is not creating a buzz around the film which might hamper the attention coming towards the film.

Ponniyin Selvan is a historical fiction that is based on the novel of the same name written by Kalki Krishnamurthi. Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, Rahman and Prakash Raj are playing the other pivotal roles in the movie. AR Rahman is composing the music of it.
