Acclaimed filmmaker Pa. Ranjith is all set to foray into Bollywood. In the past, the director already announced that he will be debuting in Hindi with the biopic of the popular tribal leader from Jharkhand, Birsa Munda. Titled Birsa, this film will hit the floors by the end of 2022.

Birsa Munda had fought against the British colonial system for the liberation of tribals. After announcing the project recently, the makers have confirmed that the movie will be filmed extensively in never-seen-before locations and dense forests. Apparently, the makers have extensively scouted the locations in West Bengal and Jharkhand and also researched a lot about Birsa's life.

In his statement, Ranjith said that he couldn't have gotten a better script for his Bollywood debut. The Kabali director stated that researching Birsa's life was a highly enriching experience for him.

Ranjith's last outing was Sarpatta Parambarai. Starring Arya in the lead role, this movie received wide critical as well as popular acclaim.
