Shaktimaan was a popular television show during the late 1990s and the early 2000s. It ran for eight years between 1997 to 2005. Kids of those times used to love this superhero series. Shaktimaan is often considered the first superhero in the Indian entertainment arena.
Now, this superhero is all set to enter the film space. Sony Pictures India has announced that it will be bankrolling the Shaktimaan film series which will be made in three parts. For this trilogy, they have partnered with the original version's producer Mukesh Khanna's Bheeshm International and Brewing Thoughts. Incidentally, Mukesh also portrayed the role of Shaktimaan in the original TV show. The makers stated that a big star will play the lead role in this series but didn't confirm who will be that actor.
As per the reports, Prabhas and Allu Arjun are in talks for this prestigious project. The talks are going on and the complete details will be out soon.
Sony Pictures India has released a title announcement teaser and tweeted, "After the super success of our many superhero films in India and all over the globe, it's time for our desi Superhero!"
