Tollywood's most-celebrated lyric writer Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry is no more. The lyricist passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad. The legendary lyricist was battling pneumonia-related issues and his health situation worsened yesterday.
Today, the doctors tried their best to bring his condition to normal but unfortunately, he could not respond to the treatment. The lyricist was 66 and he was survived by his wife and two sons.
Sastry had penned lyrics for over 3,000 songs and earned many rewards throughout his career. He was awarded Padma Shri and also bagged 11 state Nandi Awards and four Filmfare awards.
Sirivennela's untimely demise has created a void in the Telugu film industry. Singlehandedly, he made many songs to create a sensation in the film industry. He is the synonym for Telugu literature and his loss is irreplaceable.
