Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently busy with the shoot of Godfather, which is being directed by Mohana Raja. It is an official remake of the 2019 Malayalam hit Lucifer, starring Mohanlal in the lead role.

Lucifer was directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. He also played an extended cameo which is a crucial role in the movie. There were many speculations about the actor who will be donning this character in the Telugu version.

At first, it was reported that Ram Charan will essay this role. Later, it was heard that Satya Dev has been approached for the character. Then, the gossip mongers stated that Bollywood star Salman Khan will portray this role.

According to the latest buzz, Salman will indeed essay this role in the movie. It is also being heard that his character will be a full-length one and not a cameo. Apparently, there will be a song sequence for him as well.

Going by this news, it looks like the makers have made a lot of changes to the original script in order to extend Salman's character in the movie.

Godfather is being bankrolled by Konidela Production Company. Thaman is composing the music of it. The film is slated for the 2022 release.
