Recently, the government of Andhra Pradesh stated that it will soon launch a cinema ticketing portal which will be maintained by State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation.
Many Tollywood celebrities have raised their voice against this decision and opined that it will affect the income of producers, exhibitors and distributors.
On the flip side, Tamil actor and Nadigar Sangam president Vishal expressed his happiness over implementing this initiative in AP. He also requested Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister MK Stalin to do the same in Tamil Nadu.
In his recent social media post, Vishal stated, "Thank You !! Hats off Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy Gaaru for implementing Online Booking System across theatres in AP, something we always wanted to implement in Tamil Nadu too, so happy this is happening, will be welcomed by one and all in the Film industry since it brings 100% transparency."
"I sincerely request our Hon Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru M.K Stalin Sir to implement the same in our state to bring about complete transparency in theatre collections which will b a boon to Film Industry & Government," he further added.
It has to be seen if the Tamil Nadu government will follow this AP's new initiative or not.
