Natural Star Nani to have a second straight release in the OTT arena. His prestigious 25th film V had to opt for a direct digital release last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, his upcoming film Tuck Jagdish is also getting ready for an OTT release due to the second lockdown.
It has been unofficially confirmed that Tuck Jagdish will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in September. However, the makers are hiding the news in bushes and have been issuing indirect statements.
A few days back, Nani issued a press statement saying that though he has no interest in releasing his film on the OTT platform, he had to make hard decisions to help producers.
The other day, producers of the film, Shine Screens issued their own press release. The makers stated that they opted for a non-theatrical release as there is no other option left.
"With a lot of ambiguity about when things will return to normal, we approached Nani garu and convinced him for Non-theatrical release since there was no other option left before us. He was disappointed and reluctant a lot initially as he was particular about a theatrical release. But, he later understood the situation and was gracious enough to accept considering the problems of the producers," stated the producers.
They have indirectly confirmed the non-theatrical release but are yet to announce the release date.
Already, people are disappointed with the decision and the makers are further increasing the disappointment by not announcing the release date.
Fans are opining that it is better to stop the suspense now and announce the release date soon. Otherwise, there is a danger of gaining negative buzz ahead of its release on digital space.
