After halting the shoot for a few months due to the second outbreak of the coronavirus, Mani Ratnam took back his ambitious project Ponniyin Selvan on the floors recently in Pondicherry.

As per the latest buzz in Kollywood, this film will be made in two parts and the first part will hit the screens during summer 2022. Apparently, Mani Ratnam is planning a big schedule in Hyderabad next month and the entire shooting will be wrapped up after that schedule.

Rajamouli's Baahubali released in two parts and it became a huge success. Ever since that happened, many are planning to bring their films in two parts. Now, Mani Ratnam seems to be following the footsteps of Rajamouli.

Ponniyin Selvan features Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Vikram, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles. AR Rahman is composing the music of it.
