One of the Telugu biggies that had opted for a direct OTT release by skipping theatrical release is Venkatesh starrer Narappa. This movie was supposed to hit the screens on May 14th but the second wave of the coronavirus ruined the plans.
During the lockdown, producer Suresh Babu decided to skip the theatrical release and sold its rights to Amazon Prime Video. The trailer of this action thriller is unveiled now. For those who are unaware, Narappa is an official remake of the 2019 Tamil film Asuran.
The trailer reminds us of the original version. It looks like the makers have stayed true to the story. Even the background score used in the trailer is from Asuran.
Venkatesh looks absolutely stunning in this makeover. The actor seems to have put his soul into the character. We get a glimpse of his two looks in the film. The likes of Priyamani, Nasser, and Rao Ramesh have just sizzled in the trailer and nothing about their characters is known from it.
The makers have used a rural Rayalaseema accent in the movie. The dialogues look good. Especially the line, "Mana daggara bhoomunte thiseskuntaru, dabbunte lageskuntaru, kani chaduvuni matram mana daggarnundi evaru thiskoleru Sinappa," will strike a chord with the viewers.
Narappa is directed by Sreekanth Addala. Kalaipuli S Thanu co-produced the project along with Suresh Babu. It will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on July 20.
