Tamil star Suriya is one of the actors who raised his voice against the recent proposal of the Cinematograph Act introduced by the Government of India. He said that it curbs the freedom of expression of the filmmakers and asked people to sign a petition against it. This is not the first time Suriya took a stand against the central government's activities.
Earlier, he opposed the implementation of NEET as well. He alleged NEET is shattering the dreams of underprivileged students of becoming doctors. He stated it as 'social justice.' He opined that India's education system should be a state subject as we have various languages, cultures, and traditions.
On the other hand, the actor is facing the wrath of the BJP for taking a stand against them. Recently, BJP's youth wing president of Tamil Nadu, Vinoj P Selvam accused Suriya of confusing students with false propaganda. He warned that they will take legal action against the Singham actor if he tries to spread rumors on NEET and Cinematograph bill.
Not only Suriya but his wife Jyothika and younger brother Karthi have also faced the anger of the BJP in the past for raising questions on various government bills and proposals.
