Rarely we witness complete political dramas in Telugu cinema. Especially, political films have become non-existent in the last two decades. Films like Leader and Prasthanam remain as exceptions. Meanwhile, director Deva Katta is now coming with a complete political drama called Republic.

Starring Sai Dharam Tej in the lead role, the teaser of this film was released today. Going by the trailer, it looks like the director is shooting some serious questions about the system of democracy. He asks how can we live in a society where the government is acting like a feudal system and even civil servants are acting like puppets. The dialogues are sharp and strong. Sai Dharam Tej looked fit in the role.

The background score of Mani Sharma is another highlight of the teaser. It is a different kind of role he is portraying compared to his earlier movies. We also get a glimpse of Ramya Krishna and Jagapathi Babu in the teaser. However, there are no traces of the film's female lead Aishwarya Rajesh. Republic is all set to hit the screens on June 4.
