Prashant Neel is one of the star directors in the Indian film industry. With the success of KGF Chapter 1, the director has become the filmmaker on demand. KGF Chapter 2 is set to release soon. Already, the director is busy shooting for his new movie Salaar, with Prabhas.

However, there are rumours that Salaar is the official remake of Kannada hit film Ugramm, the directorial debut of Neel. Now, Neel has given a confirmation on the same in his recent interview with a newspaper. Prashant Neel has denied the reports that the movie is a remake. The director told that the film is a original script.

He also condenmed the speculations that the film has been inspired by a Hollywood film. Shruti Haasan plays the leading lady in the film. Ravi Basur is the film's music director. Hombale Films is the production house that bankrolled the film.
