It looks like the Indian filmmakers still didn't lose their fascination towards biopics. We have seen plenty of biographical dramas in the last few years and now it looks like there is another biopic that is joining this list. It is the life story of actress turned politician Sumalatha.

According to the reports, Kannada filmmaker Gurudesh Pandey is planning to make a web series on the life of Sumalatha. It will be a series of 10 episodes and will stream on a popular OTT platform. Apparently, Gurudesh is planning to focus on Sumalatha's rise in politics.

Sumalatha reigned the Kannada and Telugu film industries during the 1980s and 90s. Later, she married to Kannada star hero Ambareesh. After the demise of Ambareesh, Sumalatha entered into politics and contested as an independent candidate from Mandya constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. She won those elections and created a sensation in the Karnataka political circles.
