It is known that all the state governments are implementing a restriction on cinema halls and only allowing 50% of audiences to theatres considering the spread of COVID-19. Since it is considered as an unwelcoming move for distributors and buyers, big budget films have not walked into cinemas so far. Vijay’s ‘Master’ is the first star-hero film to hit cinemas during this pandemic situation. The film made by Lokesh Kanagaraj is all set to walk into theatres for this Pongal and ticket booking will start from 7th January.
Ahead of movie release, Kollywood Thalapathy Vijay met the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. He has requested CM Palaniswamy to grant essential permission to permit 100% of audiences to theatres, which would certainly help Master. However, there is no information about how CM has responded to Vijay’s request. The producers of Master, who initially planned for an OTT release, had a change of mind later and declared that the film will only release in cinema theatres. With Anirudh Ravichandran as music composer, Master has Malavika Mohanan as leading lady and Andrea Jeremiah in a special role. The film, which is coming in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam, is bankrolled by XB Film Creators.
