During the lockdown, Amazon Prime Video tried to acquire the rights of Panjaa Vaishnav Tej's Uppena. However, the makers of the film were adamant on going for a theatrical release. As the cinema halls are opened now, the team is getting busy with the release works. Meanwhile, it is being heard that streaming giant Netflix has bought the digital rights of this movie.

As per the sources in the tinsel town, Netflix has shelled out a huge amount of money to buy the rights of this movie. Uppena will be available for streaming once it gets done with the theatrical run. Apparently, the makers are planning to release the film during the summer of 2021.

Uppena is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers and directed by newcomer Buchibabu Sana. Krithi Shetty and Vijay Sethupathi are planing the other important roles in the movie. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music of it. Stay tuned for more updates on this movie.
