Cyber Crime police officials in Chennai registered a case against a social media user who issued a rape threat to Vijay Setupathi's minor daughter. This comes amidst the controversy of Vijay Setupathi deciding to the biopic of Muthiah Muralidharan. However, the actor decided to come out of the film too.

Going more into the details, the social media user threatened Vijay Setupathi's minor daughter with rape. It comes as a big shock to everyone as the actor's daughter has nothing to do with the career of Vijay Setupathi.

Chennai City Police Commissioner Mahesh Aggarwal posted on his official Twitter page regarding the same. “There has been a lot of concern in social media regarding comments made in social media against a celebrity. On receipt of the complaint to this effect, a case in Cyber Cell has been registered,” he tweeted on Tuesday.

The FIR has been registered under sections 153, 294 (B) of the IPC, and section 67B of the Information Technology Act.
