Makkal Selvan Vijay Setupathi is set to do a biopic on the life of cricketer Muthaiah Muralidharan, titled 800. But, there is a controversy surrounding the project right now. On one side, filmmakers like Bharathi Raja appealed to Vijay Setupathi not to do the film. On the other side, Raadika Sharath Kumar has now extended her support to the actor that he is an actor and no one should curb him.

The film's announcement has come very recently. As soon as the announcement has come up, there is a huge backlash from the Tamil community. Muralidharan issued a press statement but Vijay Setupathi remained silent, as of now.
