We already knew that National award winning actress Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the much-awaited biopic, 'Thalaivi'. 

According to the latest reports, Madhoo Shah is now on board to essay the role of MGR’ wife Janaki in the movie. Recently Madhoo Shah participated in a live chat on the Facebook page. In that live chat, she also spoke about her next project ‘Thalaivi’. The actress also expressed her opinions on issues like comparing women to men, Hathras gangrape and body shaming. Talking about her role in 'Thalaivi', “I am essaying MGR’ wife Janaki Ramachandran in the biopic of Jayalalithaa’ Amma ‘. I have never met her, but have met Jayalalithaaji. She gave me the State Award for the movie Roja," said Madhoo Shah. 

"The director has recorded all the nuances required for the role and showed us. He asked me to reprise the character based on that," she added. Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh are bankrolling this project.
