Vijay Sethupathi made his debut in Tollywood with the film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Vijay immediately signed two movies for Mythri Movie Makers. The first one is Uppena while the second one is Pushpa. Uppena shoot is over while Pushpa's shoot is in the beginning stages. Suddenly, Vijay Sethupathi quit the project Pushpa, leaving a lot of discussion in the filmnagar.

A few speculated that Vijay demanded a huge remuneration which the makers could not accommodate but the actor has now clarified these rumors. Vijay Sethupathi revealed the actual reason behind quitting the project that he could not adjust the dates for Pushpa.

Vijay Sethupathi revealed that he does not want to create troubles to the makers of Pushpa later by not giving the dates properly because of which he quit the project.

The buzz is that Bobby Simha replaced Vijay Sethupathi in the film.
