Not many are aware of the fact that there are no movie theatres in Kashmir. Although our filmmakers go to Jammu & Kashmir for the film's shoots but the local people never get the chance to witness the beauty of their locations on the big screens.

It's almost 3 decades that the theatres in Sri Nagar, the capital of Jammu & Kashmir got closed. Now, the latest buzz reveals that a multiplex is under construction in Sri Nagar. With the things getting back to normalcy there, a multiplex is going to see the light soon. Once the construction gets completed, the license for the same will be issued by the government.

Broadway cinema hall in Srinagar is a famous cinema hall which was closed long back. The new multiplex is coming exactly opposite to this landmark. M/S Taksal Hospitalities Pvt. Ltd is constructing this multiplex. It looks like the multiplex might get opened next year.
