All the announced films will not go to the sets.  All the films that commenced shooting will not complete. All the films that complete shooting will not release. There are countless films lying in the labs. Many of those films never see the light.  The OTT platforms seem to be the last ray of hope for them.

The filmmakers of such released films are thinking of OTT release now.  In the case of theatrical release, these filmmakers need buyers.  Or they have to spend huge money to just release the film. But the situation of OTT release is something different, there are no theater rentals involved. As the OTTs are also looking for new content, they will get new films to release on their platforms.  On the other side, the makers can recover at least some percentage of their investment. If the movie turns out to be a hit on OTT, they will make profits.

Several films like Gopichand's 'Aradugula Bullet' are now looking at OTT release.  Rather than lying in the labs without release, it is better to have a release on OTT platforms. The product will reach the audience.  They will decide whether it is good or bad.
