Nandamuri Balakrishna- KS Ravi Kumar's mass action film 'Ruler', which released on 20th December, has opened to flop talk from the first day of release. Featuring Sonal Chauhan and Vedika and leading ladies, Ruler is blended with routine story and weak screenplay. As a result, the film ended up as huge disaster at box-office.
The star hero movie couldn't even fetch Rs 10 crore in its first weekend. The film which was sold for Rs 24 Crores has earned a measly 7.25 in the first weekend, which just 25% return on the investment for buyers. Ruler is the third disaster for Balakrishna this year, after biopic series NTR Kathanayakudu & Mahanayakudu.
Even in Ceeded, which is considered to be the stronghold region for Balakrishna when it comes to box-office numbers, Ruler has failed to gain some decent numbers. By end of the first week, Ruler has collected Rs 1.9 Cr from Ceeded, 1.3 Cr from Nizam, 48 lakhs from Uttarandhra, 1.33 Cr from Guntur and not more than 30 lakhs from East, West and Krishna areas. The performance of the film was even worse in the overseas as it made just 20 lakhs by end week-1.
