Venkatesh-Naga Chaitanya starrer 'Venky Mama', which was released on 13th December on occasion of Venkatesh's birthday, has opened to mixed talk from audiences. The film produced by Suresh Productions was made by Bobby (KS Ravindra). Despite the divide talk on the first day, the family entertainer collected a good share of 7.22 Cr on day-1. The same pace was continued on Saturday and Sunday as well. As a result, Venky Mama gained a decent share of 17 crores in the first weekend.


The film collected Rs 6.5 Cr share from Nizam, 2.65 Cr for Ceeded, 2.2 Cr from Uttarandhra and 1.5 Cr from the Guntur region. In some areas, the box-office numbers for Sunday were higher than the opening day (Friday). Given the fact that box-office has not seen any big releases in the last few weeks and Venky Mama being a family entertainer, audiences made a beeline to the theatres over the weekend.


The real litmus test begins from Monday as the collections are likely to decline over weekdays and depending upon the box-office figures from Monday, one can estimate if Venky Mama is heading towards a successful venture.
