Actress Anushka Shetty is currently busy with Nishabdam, which has Ranganathan Madhavan, Michael Madsen, Subbaraju, Anjali, Shalini Pandey and others in key roles. Anushka played a speech impaired artist in this film. Directed by Hemanth Madhukar, the film is slated for release on January 31.

It is known that Asuran is being remade in Telugu and that Venkatesh is playing the lead role in this film which is being directed by Srikanth Addala of Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu fame. Reports are doing rounds that Shriya Saran has been roped in to play the leading lady in this film. But also, it is said that Anushka Shetty was also approached to play the same role, which was done by Manju Warrier in original version. It is said that Anuhska has turned down the offer. It could have been that the actress did not wasn’t to play such raw and rustic role which is definitely a de glam one.

After Nishabdam, Anushka is said to be doing a woman centric film which will be directed by Gautam Vasudev Menon.
