After Nawab, director Mani Ratnam took some time to begin working on his next film. The versatile director is currently working on his upcoming film Ponniyan Selvan, which has been his dream project since some time.

Ponniyan Selvan has an ensemble cast. Actors such as Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Keerthy Suresh, Aditi Rao Hydari are part of it, recently, Malayalam actor Jayaram has also confirmed to be part of the film.

The shoot of the film hasn’t begun yet and director Mani Ratnam and his team is currently busy scouting locations. The latest report is that they are in Thailand now. Bollywood stunt choreographer Sham Kaushal is also in the trip with Mani Ratnam, and their pictures have gone viral social media.

As per the sources, it is said that a major portion of the film will be shot in Thailand. Reports are that Thailand and Indonesia have been chosen due to its rich forests and also because the temples there resemble the 9th-century feel in which the story is set.
