Veteran Telugu movie artist, Theatre actor, screenwriter and editor Gollapudi Maruti Rao, who entered into cinema in the 1960s, is one of the most reputed personalities in our industry. The senior actor, 80, has been admitted to the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai as he's suffering from age-related health issues.
On Monday, Indian Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has directly paid a visit to the hospital to know about Maruti Rao's wellbeing. Naidu has enquired about Gollapudi's health condition with his family members and doctors treating him. The Vice President also conveyed his wishes for the fast recovery of Maruti Rao.
As a character artist, comedian and in roles with negative shade, Gollapudi entertained many of us. His recent filmography includes Leader, Manamantha (2016), ISM (2016) and Jodi (2019). The thespian went on to win Nandi Award as the best comedian for Tarangini (1982) and he turned director with 1993's Prema Pustakam.
