Mumbai Film Festival has been screening an amazing collection of films, documentaries, etc. In this 7-day festival, most of the screenings got a good response from the audience. Here are some of the movies that got screened at MAMI yesterday and garnered appreciation from the viewers.
The first film to talk about is definitely, 'Flatland'. Helmed by Jenna Bass, the film is about three women, including a woman who runs away from her husband on the day of marriage, a lady detective who is on a mission to save her boyfriend from a murder case and a pregnant girl whose boyfriend turns out to be a cheater. All three stories are narrated beautifully and received accolades at MAMI. 'Midnight Family', directorial of Luke Lorentzen, is about a family who runs private ambulance service in Mexico City. The documentary showcases the daily lives of the employees in that department. Another movie that strikes the chord with the audience is 'Buyoyancy'. Directed by Rodd Rathjen, the film revolves around a young Cambodian boy who gets enslaved aboard a fishing trawler. The beautifully written script and power-packed performances have been receiving decent reception at MAMI.
System Crasher by Nora Fingscheidt is about a nine-year-old who face some mental issues. The way the director narrated the story of a child who suffers temperamental issues is excellent and Helena Zengel's performance is a show-stealer. 'Les Misérables' by Ladj Ly is worth giving a try. The story is about a clash between three cops and some kids in Paris suburbs. The movie also delivers an intense and powerful message to society and leaves an impact on the audience.
