MAMI International Film festival is currently going on, and three of the films that got screened yesterday have received critical acclaim. The three movies are 'For Sama', 'Aadhar', and 'Honey Boy'.
'Sama' is a documentary that showcases the situations in Syria during the war. Notes Syrian filmmaker Waad Al-Kateeb helmed this heart-wrenching documentary 'For Sama'. Touted to be an autobiographical documentary of Waad Al-Kateeb, the story revolves around her, her husband, and their child Sama. Each and every scene of the documentary will break the hearts, and the audience will surely get teary-eyed watching the film. On the other hand, 'Aadhar' directed by Suman Ghosh is about a villager and his journey to change his Aadhar number. Starring Vineet Kulkarni, his fantastic performance is an absolute delight to watch. The film is gearing up for a theatrical release in India soon, but the movie sure became a winner at MAMI.
Lucas Hedges and Noah Jupe are the show-stealer for the American drama 'Honey Boy' which is the autobiography of noted actor Shia LaBeouf. Directed by Alma Har'el, the movie showcased the childhood of Shia, his relationship with his father, etc. The funny scenes in the film sure give us a hilarious ride, but some scenes which showcase the abusive father-son relation are heartbreaking.
