When compared with the private awards, there is always a special recognition for the awards given by the government. So, industry people are very particular about Nandi awards. But, after the bifurcation of Telugu States, neither of the governments showed interest to set up the Nandi awards ceremony annually. Finally, we hear that the AP state government is making preparations to present the awards that were announced in the past and may also declare awards for recent years.


It is in the reports that the Nandi awards issue was discussed in the recent Chiranjeevi - YS Jagan Mohan Reddy meeting at Amaravati. As per the sources, Megastar seems to have asked Jagan to present the pending Nandi awards, to which the CM is said to have reacted positively. Jagan, reportedly, has assured Chiranjeevi about the presentation of Nandi awards within a short period.


So, finally, the celebration of Nandi awards is expected to happen soon. Also, Telangana govt had in the past announced that they would introduce Simha awards. But, there was no further movement made and film enthusiasts are looking forward to the awards from the state government.
