On the occasion of Ugadi, which falls on April 6, actors Samantha Akkineni and Sharwanand are going to take part in the official launch of Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster film ’96. This is the first time the actors will be pairing up for a film on the screen.

To be directed Prem Kumar, who directed the Tamil version, the film will be produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. There have a lot of speculations on the title of this remake film, but nothing as of now has been finalised. This film is currently in pre-production stage and will be going on floors pretty soon. Slight changes in the script, when compared to the Tamil version will be made in the Telugu one is what the sourced have said. 

In the original version, Ram and Jaanu will be school friends and that’s when they have a crush for each other and that’s how it develops into love. Whereas in the Telugu version, it is said that the school version will be changed into a college love story. Keep posted for more updates.
