This Valentines Day, only two films Dev and Lovers Day released in Telugu and those are dubbed flicks. As per early trade reports, both films opened very poorly and main theatres in Hyderabad, (RTC Crossroads) failed to attract audiences.

Even though Dev has Karthi and Rakul Preet, who have a huge fan following in Telugu states, cannot show the magic, which stuns everyone. Lack of publicity is the main reason for the poor openings; one of the trade analysts from Telugu cinema expressed his view. On the other hand, Lovers Day which grabbed the attention of youth because of Priya Prakash Varrier’s wink act also failed to fulfil box office expectations with its first show of the opening day.

However, Dev opened well on its first day in Tamilnadu, because of hero Karthi’s strong fan base in Tamilnadu. Trade pundits from Telugu cinema are opinioned that, both Dev and Lovers Day missed the golden chance as there is no opposition from Telugu cinemas.
