Movie lovers still remember the confusion created by Rajinikanth's Kaala release which in turn affected the release of films, Allu Arjun's Naa Peru Surya and Mahesh Babu's Bharat Ane Nenu. Both coming to an understanding left Kaala release date and finalised other dates for their film's release. However, Kaala makers later cited various reasons and postponed the film release. Due to their indecisiveness, many Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films faced lot of problems.

It seems Rajini's upcoming entertainer Petta too is treading in the same line. Though the makers finalised Jan 10th for the Tamil version, the makers are yet to take a decision on the film's Telugu version. Buyers are already facing lot of difficulties to allocate theatres for the three Sankranti releases NTR, Vinaya Vidheya Rama and F2. Under these circumstances, it is difficult to allocate theatres to Petta.

So the Sun Production House is thinking of alternate dates and buzz is they are planning Jan 25 as the film release. However, that date has been already locked by Akhil's Mr.Majnu. Kalyan Ram's 118 may also release on the same day. Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika too is releasing on the same day. 

If Petta enters the race, then competition starts among all these films. Even now the makers are not coming out with any concrete information. So Petta Telugu release may bring lot of problems to other Telugu films.
