In this biopic, Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is playing the role of Jayalalithaa. Many top celebrities are a part of the biopic which is garnering attention as it is directed by AL, Vijay. Sources say Lyca Productions is planning to cast a plethora of stars in this biopic.

They roped in star actor Aravinda Swamy for the role of top actor, Kadhal Mannan, former TN CM and Jayalalithaa's mentor MGR. Aravinda Swamy has been extremely selective about the roles in his second innings. It is known that Aravinda Swamy attracted even Telugu movie lovers with his roles like Ram Charan's Dhruva.
