Mahesh Babu and Director Sukumar worked together for 1-Nenokkadine in 2014 and the film was a disaster at the box office in regard to collections. But as a story, it received a critical acclaim. Sukumar was working on the story for their next film together and Mahesh had liked it long back.

The latest news is that the film is going to be a thriller and it has increased curiosity amongst everyone even before the arrival of an official announcement. It is said that Rakul Preet Singh, who paired with Mahesh for Spyder is roped in to play the leading lady of the film. It has been a long time since Rakul was seen in a straight Telugu film and her upcoming release in T’town would be Kathanayakudu, where she will be seen playing the role of Sridevi.

Mahesh and Sukumar’s film will be produced by Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar and Mohan Cherukuri under Mythri Movie Makers banner. The film might go on floors once Mahesh wraps up Maharshi.
