From the time it was announced the movie ‘Yatra’ has been garnering a lot of attention given the fact that it is more like a biopic of the late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. The major part of the movie focuses on the iconic Padayatra undertaken by the senior Congress leader which eventually brought him the post of Chief Minister.

The shooting part is completed and the post production works are happening. Meanwhile, the makers have locked December 21st as the release date and there is a reason for that. This date happens to be the birthday of YSR’s son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. The Malayalam megastar Mammootty is essaying the role of YSR.

Presently, even Jagan is also on a similar Padayatra and he has been walking across the state of Andhra Pradesh for nearly a year. ‘Yatra’ is helmed by Mahi V Raghav and this movie is raising expectations because the elections are also round the corner. Some are opining it would have been nice if Jagan was also featured in the movie.
