A year ago, the entire Indian film fraternity was in for a shock when an announcement was made. Well, it came from a Dubai based businessman named B R Shetty who said he would be producing the mega epic ‘Mahabharata’ and this would have Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in the lead. And here comes the shocking part.

Shetty reportedly announced the film would be made at a mind boggling budget of 1000 crores and it would be released as a multilingual. There was a buzz for a while but after that everything went quiet. Now, Shetty has reportedly come up with few announcements which indicate key twists and turns in the project.

As per reports, the film’s director V A Shrikumar Menon has been shown the exit door and his place would be taken by someone else. At the same time, the script which was originally written by the iconic M T Vasudevan Nair is no longer being used for this project. While it is not sure who the new team is, this news has certainly caught attention.
