We get to see most of the film actors tend to join mainstream politics at the twilight of their career. But, Kollywood’s Vishal is one young hero who is keen to jump into the political bandwagon and he tried his luck by attempting to contest from RK Nagar by-poll last year, but his nomination was rejected by Tamil Nadu Election Commission by citing that the actor failed to furnish the signs of 10 proposers.
The 41-year old actor is likely to make a comeback into political arena and is very keen to contest as an independent candidate for Tiruvarur assembly, which is set for by-election after the demise of former CM and DMK chief M Karunanidhi.
The Election Commission of Tamil Nadu is expected to issue notification for by-election shortly and Vishal himself seems to have disclosed that he will fight the poll battle as an independent contestant. “I have served my best to the film artists, through Nadigar Sangam and will continue to serve public with same commitment and with this election, I am keen to empower the people by a special campaign that no one should cast their vote for money.” However, he did not reveal whether he will discontinue to make films in the coming days. The actor’s last film, Pandem Kodi-2, ended up as a disaster at the box-office.
On other hand, Vishal Reddy arranged a 3-member committee to investigate the #MeToo cases of Kollywood and asked the women who’re making allegations to come up with a piece of preliminary evidence.
