Among the many masterpieces that came from Kala Tapaswi K Viswanath, the movie ‘Shrutilayalu’ figures in that list. This came in the year 1987 and it also focuses on classical dance along with music. While movies like that have become extinct in today’s time when such references are brought up, the interest and attention picks up.
Yesterday evening in Film Chamber a group of selected people were invited and they numbered about fifty or so. Top in that list is K Viswanath himself along with ‘Shrutilayalu’ cast and crew such as angry star Rajasekhar, Kaikala Sathyanarayana, senior Naresh, Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry and writer Akella.
They came with friends and family and onstage was Brahmasri Chaganti Koteswara Rao. At first the movie was shown followed by Chaganti’s Pravachanam. He did something like this for ‘Sankarabharanam’ for three days in Satya Sai Nigamagamam and it was a big news but this was a rather private affair.
