It is one thing to take cinematic liberties while making a film and another to take it to such an extent that you defy the actual reality and facts. That is the point one man has tried to make after watching the teaser of the magnum opus ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ featuring megastar Chiranjeevi. One of the captions caught his attention.
His name is K C Chekuri and he is a popular Dallas based NRI. He is also quite active in TDP and he came up with a post pointing out the mistake in the movie’s teaser. Apparently, the teaser mentions "India's first civilian rebellion against British" and Chekuri has quashed and questioned this. As per historical records, many civilian rebellions took place before this.
The Chuvars of Bengal Midnapore, Munda Adivasis from Chota Nagpur, Tomars, Pahaadi Sardars, Malai Brahmins from Kerala have fought against the British. Similarly, Chekuri pointed out that the coal rebellion in Ranchi, Kandh rebellion in Patna, Gondula rebellion in Odisha, Khasi’s rebellion in Assam, the Kutch rebellion are some of the prominent revolts that took place before Narasimha Reddy’s fight began. Well, hope the makers take a note of it and do the needful.
