The standard procedure for getting into the pre-release publicity and promotion for a movie is exactly three to four weeks prior to release. Only that amount of publicity helps in creating that visibility quotient and eventually big openings on the release day. And if it is a big star movie this procedure is followed without fail.
However, nothing of that sort happened for one movie. We are talking about the film ‘Kaala’ featuring Style Samrat Rajnikanth. The film is scheduled for release on June 7th and till now, not much of publicity has happened. Incidentally, the same happened with Rajini’s earlier release ‘Kabali’. One week before release they exploded with publicity.
Reports from Chennai reveal the same strategy is being applied here but many feel they don’t see much viability in this path. Perhaps this is being done to cut down some costs and the makers might be banking on the star image of Rajini to pull the crowds and they don’t have to put any extra effort. Let us see how this strategy works.
