The relationship between the film critics and the film industry is that of love-hate but it must be said that most of the time the reviewers are at the receiving end because they give poor ratings. The cine folks are quite allergic to film reviewers and there have been instances wherein the cine folks took the reviews quite personally too.

However, things went into a different dimension with one movie. We are talking about the film ‘Mahanati’. This biopic on the legendary Savitri has been met with an unanimous positive rating from all the critics. But there is a talk happening among the cine folks that this positive review flood is due to a particular reason.

The cine crowd says “They will lose their honour if they don’t give proper ratings. These ratings are not out of their own experience after watching the film. They are keeping an eye on social media reactions and coming up with their ratings. Since the film is getting applause from all genres of the audience, the film critic fraternity gave such ratings.”
