When two promising movies are getting released in a short space, it obviously leads to a box office clash and even if they are medium budget flicks, the dent is bound to occur. With summer season being the most promising of all, the Tollywood folks don’t hesitate to take that risk if they are positive about their content.
The month of May is going to see few clashes like that and first on that list is two films ‘Mahanati’ and ‘Mehbooba’. ‘Mahanati’ is the biopic on the legendary actress Savitri helmed by Nag Ashwin, this is hitting the screens on May 9th and ‘Mehbooba’ is a love story on Indo-Pak war backdrop helmed by speed director Puri Jagannadh.
Puri’s film is arriving on May 11th. Though some are saying this is going to affect the collections, others are saying it won’t be so because they are of contrasting genres and each film has its own share of audience. If the second theory works and both films click at the box office, this can be the best result Tollywood can hope for.
