In case you have observed the trend of Indian cinema lately, ever since the magnum opus ‘Baahubali’ came from Tollywood, there are many filmmakers from Kollywood and Bollywood who are doing their best to come up with a movie that can get past this creation from the tough taskmaster S S Rajamouli.
Akin to that, when the colorful moviemaker Sanjay Bhansali announced ‘Padmaavat’ and as the film arrived, the trade expectations were that the film is Bollywood’s answer to ‘Baahubali’. However, the numbers have arrived and it is clear that the film is nowhere near to even the first part of ‘Baahubali’.
According to reports from Mumbai, the film has touched Rs 82 crores as part of its first-week gross collection worldwide and the trends are quite healthy. The trade analysts are predicting that by the end of Monday, the film would be touching the Rs 120 crores mark. Yet, it has a very long way to go before it touches the mighty ‘Baahubali’.
