Intolerance and sentiments getting hurt has become a fad these days and more than the genuine anguish this looks more like a ploy to either garner publicity or make some money out of it. Unfortunately, the most affected victim due to this is cinema.
Whenever the filmmakers experiment with something, immediately some groups stand up as if they have taken the onus of the entire community. This time, it is the turn of few Brahmin groups. They have raised an objection to the song ‘Gudilo..badilo’ in Duvvada Jagannadham.
Point is, are these allegations really sensible? Just because few words were used how does it really insult the community. If you can recall, words like pushpam, patram, deepam samarpayami were used in a song in Allari Priyudu featuring Jagapathi Babu. Similarly, ‘vedam naadam anni chusanu neelo’ was used in the movie Khaidi. So, such words have been used since long so it doesn’t make sense to stand up and make a scene out of it.
