To those of you who are still not aware the government of Telangana has named its state level film awards as Simha awards. Now, there seems to be a deeper reason behind choosing this name. As such, Andhra Pradesh has got the Nandi Awards.
It is known that Nandi is Lord Shiva’s vehicle while Simha (the Lion) is Goddess Parvathi’s vehicle. On the other hand, Nataraja is symbol for art and dance and he is the form of Lord Shiva whose wife is Parvathi. That way, they are planning so much and putting it together.
Some intellectuals are saying these award names are just like Ardhanareeswara and it looks like they want to convey clearly that both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will always be together though geographically they are divided. This is food for thought indeed!
