Analysis:

For all those who are unaware of, Katamarayudu is an official remake of Tamil commercial hit Veeram starring Ajith and Tamannaah.

Set in a rural backdrop, it is a film of a violent hero trying to mend his ways for his love interest but cannot– of course due to the villain.

Katamarayudu tried to be distinct remake with some creative modifications brought onboard but in short, the execution falls flat for this much anticipate mass entertainer.

Keeping aside comparisons with the original, Katamarayudu tries to be a cool romantic drama with some good scenes and engaging screenplay in the first half. Scenes between Pawan Kalyan, Ali, his brother troop and Shruti Haasan work really well and play a crucial part.

Though the pre-interval action sequence was in fact a goof up in terms of impactful choreography, the scene value and context along with the background score (not anywhere close to the original) saves it from being a debacle.

Getting back to the second half with some expectations, we notice the director losing grip over the second half. Forced characters, emotions, undefined links, inadept execution of comedy/conflict/action sequence do the major damage bigtime. After the fight-song-fight loop, there comes the C.L.I.M.A.X! “Oh Shucks! This is Veeram’s remake kada… let’s bring in the background score for some IMPACT but use it with some mutations”– we are not sure if this is what they thought before conceiving the climax but BIG THUMBS DOWN folks!

- Both writing and execution of the Second Half

- Poor Action sequences & No WOW elements to relish at all
