When you start forgetting to give respect to those who deserve it is a clear evidence that you are losing touch with yourself and the essence of humanity. The insult is more when the person happens to be a legend who contributed a lot to this world.
The reason for this discussion is from reports that came about the final journey of Dr Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna. There were just fifteen people who were present during his funeral. For the record, Dr Mangalampalli is a Padma Vibhushan recipient.
As per protocol, the final journey has to be done with government honors but only two local ministers of Tamil Nadu came and when they were reminded of it, they said they had no information. The fact that his last journey had very neglected treatment is making everyone feel sad. What a shame!
