You can give a lot of credit to the FM Radio channels because they brought alive the culture of listening to radio which was becoming extinct at one point. Today, quite a few FM channels are doing their bit to entertain the public who are caught up in the daily rigmarole of life.
While that is appreciated, the FM channels also hold certain moral responsibilities. Recently, the legendary Carnatic singer Dr Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna passed away and except Akasavani and 101.9, none of the Radio channels gave him a tribute or condolence, as per the sources.
They have become very commercial and busy counting each minute equivalent to money. This has not gone too well with many FM Radio listeners and they are feeling very disappointed with this thick skinned approach of the channels. Not even one song of the legend was reportedly aired.
